Happy New Year everyone! My name is Tsuyoshi. I’m running the Japan Pro Fishing web store. I would like to introduce a new lure from Gan Craft called “Screw Bait”. The lure looks like an ordinary floating prop bait but it’s actually not. Screw Bait is a new concept of sinking and came out as three different models.
It covers shallow to bottom deep water. The turn of the screws show flashing and strong wave motion underwater. It’s something new to try out in 2008!
Good fishing to everyone!

Hey Tsuyoshi,
thanks for this brief introduction. Does anyone have a link to the manufactuers website? Can’t find any detailed informations on the web…
Take care… Christian

Hello Christian,
Gan Craft does not have a website. I wish they make it soon…
I will email you the details of screw bait.
How was the vacation?
Talk to you soon,
Tsuyoshi

Thanks for the update. What a shame that a manufacturer like Gan Craft doesn’t have a coporate website. Would be good to collect the additional informations and add them to your post.
Later… C.

Do you or Tsuyoshi know much about the Gan Craft Bacra 250? I don’t own one but I am trying to figure out what the wire extension between the lip and body does to the action/retrieve…
Thanks

Hi Chris,
it’s the first time I come aross this kind of special crank. Here’s what Ichiban Tackle says about it: “…The wired water through lip caused it quick return action.”. More details are hard to find - let’s see if Tsuyoshi knows more about it.
For sure it looks interesting. Keeping in mind the sophisticated approach of Gan Craft, this might be a lure that’s worth a closer look.
Talk soon… C.

just received this bait yesterday and have yet to test it out. It’s a tough find, but managed to obtain one. I saw some video of this bait on you tube and I’m sold. Will inform once I test out.

Hola Jorge,
thanks for posting these links. The blog holds a lot of great pictures featuring the Screw Bait.
I finally have to get some some of these lures. What a shame I don’t have some in my bags for the forthcoming trip to Cordoba. Btw: Where do you live in Spain?
Did you already tried them?
Take care, Christian

Hi Christian,
I live in Madrid.
I’m sure you’ll have great bass fishing in Navallana reservoir, in Cordoba. It’s one of the best places for numbers and lunkers here in Spain (just try topwater lures).
Screw Bait works fine: largemouths and northen pike love this lure. I ordered them at JPF Japan Pro Fishing.
Best Regards, Jorge

Hi again,
I just arrived in Berlin a day ago and had a really good time at Navallana. Unfortunately I didn’t caught >2kg lunkers (lost a few good sized fish in heavy cover) but we had a lot of bass and also few fish around 1.5kg.
At all it was a lot of fun and the next trip to Cordoba is sheduled for September this year. I’ll post a brief round-up about the last week in Spain within the next days to share some of the experiences I made during my first ‘offical’ bass-fishing trip. A lot of pictures can already be found at my flickr photostream. Stay tuned!
Glad that you mention JPF. Tsuyoshi, the owner is a good friend and also active on the blog if his time allows.

I have tested the screwbait, but I don’t think I have unlocked it’s true potential just yet. I have gotten some fish to go and I’m waiting for that big reaction bite. I do have a good pic you can post send me an email address so I can send you the pic.

Christian, any idea where you can get the 130 version?
Posted: June 11th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Hi again,
I couldn’t find the 130er at the known shops yet. Besides a few items on Ebay it’s hard to find other Screw Bait offers at reasonable prices. If you are not in hurry with ordering your ’screws’, send me an email:
info at lure-of-the-sea dot com .

Hi again,
the current offers on ebay are slightly overpriced I think. Anyway, lets see if I can do something.

130 size is a limited model offered by Gun Craft Company, and by now they are not making it any more. That´s why its so hard to find. Al least there are some new exciting colors for Screw Bait 110 SS,. This size works fine with largemouth bass and northen pike, but I´d like to try the bigger one.
Best Regards,
Jorge.
